Hitting Pay Dirt with Composting 

Learn about making usable soil from food scraps and yard trimmings at a workshop, “Hitting Pay Dirt with Composting,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the New Carlisle Library, 111 E. Lake St.

Steve Schlather, program coordinator for the Clark County Solid Waste District, will discuss what and how to compost, as well as how to deal with common problems.

Let's Visit the Outer Banks (a virtual trip!)

There's a 120 mile long strand of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina called the Outer Banks (OBX).  Lots less commercialized than Myrtle Beach, these islands can take you back in time.  Patty loved visiting and then decided to live there for two years.  Here's the Outer Banks through her eyes!

Come learn about the islands, the locals, the lighthouses, and the sea turtles (which she worked to rescue.)
