The New Carlisle Public Library offers a rich and varied calendar of adult programming.  Offerings include craft classes, sign language, book discussions, historical programming, and much more!  All programs are FREE!

NEW!! 

***A new book club has been added! Try out something sweet with the romance book club "Sweet Reads"! March meeting will be Tuesday the 18th @4:30pm at the library in the meeting room. Join us for a comedic cute book and homemade Irish inspired cookies!  

Our Cozy Reads Book Club Drink Special for March is: Spellshop Jam Tea ~ Black tea, raspberry drizzle jam & syrup, vanilla, splash of milk, and edible glitter (optional). 

 

BOOK CLUBS

We have book clubs that meet at or through the library. Please check out the following list and dates for these clubs. All books are available by picking up at the library and/or going to the Libby/Hoopla App. 

  • Gentle Reads/Inspirational: March 10th @6:30pm~  The House at the End of the Moor by Michelle Griep. Club meets 2nd Monday of the month.
  • Historical Fiction: March 13th @2pm~ The Book Lost Names by Kristen Harmel. Club meets 2nd Thursday of the month.
  • Cozy Reads Book Club The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst~ March 13 & 20th @4:30pm. This club will be two groups, please sign up for only one night; sign up will be available at the front desk where you can pick up your book. This is a new club through the library that will meet at Penny Lane Art Gallery & Café; genres may vary but will stick to being a cozy, warm, and quick read.
  • New! Sweet Reads Book Club: March 18th @4:30pm Love at First Book by Jenn McKinlay. This book club will be held in the meeting room of the library with sweet treats!
  • Mystery Book Club: March 25th @ 4pm ~The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. Club meets 4th Tuesday of the month. 

     

We also have an embroidery club that meets the last Monday of the month @6pm. Beginners are welcome and FREE kits are available for those who wish to join. Feel free to bring you own needlepoint, cross-stitch, & embroidery projects. Refreshments will be available at the meeting. You can come when you want and stay as long as you want. The club meets in the adult section starting at 6pm. Upcoming dates:

Bible Study Group

The Bible Study Group that meets the first Saturday of every month between 10am-12pm, will be doing 12 Daring Women of the Bible studies. 

March: Proverbs 31 Woman: How Not to Do It All (Karen Ehman)

April: Ruth: Staying Focused in a World of Distraction (Chrystal Evans Hurst)

May: Puah and Shiphrah: How to Fight Your Fears (Margaret Feinberg)
