The Awesome Opossum

Opossums are often misunderstood and underappreciated. Find out what makes this Ohio mammal so unique; unlike any other mammal in the U.S! They also have few tricks up their “sleeves” to protect themselves. Make a fun craft to take home.
 

Ever driven past the New Carlisle Cemetery and wondered who was buried there? Come find out September 21st at 11 am as local historian Bill Berry leads us on a merry tour! Meet at the cemetery!

The New Carlisle Library will be hosting Crochet Club on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. We will be making scarves and mats for the homeless. Please join us. If you don’t know how to crochet, this is a great opportunity to learn. We have the yarn. Bring a hook if you have one, if not you can use one of mine. If you want to come to get out of the house and don’t know how to crochet and don’t want to learn, we have things that you can help out with. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people while helping others.

The Art of Falconry
This is a free program for all ages.  If you plan to attend, please don't wear fur of any type, not even fake fur.

Falconry originated over 4,000 years ago. Today, in the United States, the sport of falconry is practiced much as it always has been since its inception. There are roughly 4,000 licensed falconers in the United States, with only about 70 of those located in the state of Ohio.

The super-cool "Reading Dogs" will be visiting the New Carlisle Public Library again on Thursday, September 26 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Stop by to read them a story or just to pamper them with hugs and pats. Our thanks to Ms. Karen Loar and her friends at Best Friends Pet Assisted Therapy.
