Welcome to New Carlisle Library's 2021 Adult Summer Reading Challenge!
This summer's theme is Tales and Tails.

You will be challenged to do some reading and enjoy some activities to be able to complete your challenges. To complete your summer challenge you must read three (3) books: fiction, biography, and non-fiction. (Granted some of the non-fiction may be used as biographies since many are cataloged under non-fiction but tell about one person) and write a review on your reading. There is a suggested reading list which just gives you some ideas of where to look. When you have completed your challenge of reading and reviewing 3 books, your name will go into a drawing for a Deluxe Gazebo Bird Feeder which has a 10 pound seed capacity to feed the animals we have been reading about!

To complete the next phase of your challenge, you must complete seven (7) activities. Activities will include some virtual tours of zoos and aquariums and some podcasts that will tell you some tales! Also included will be some craft activities. Your seven may include any variation on all the listed activities. (You could listen to all tales, or go on tours, or paint rocks! Doesn't matter as long as you do 7 things!) When you have completed all 7 of your activity challenges, your name will go into a drawing for a pair of 8 x 21 roof prism binoculars so you can see all the animals you have been reading about! When you have completed all of your challenges for the summer, your name will go in the drawing for a Compact Air Fryer by StoreBound, which offers temperature control up to 390 degrees and a timer for a faster and healthier way to fry. Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!
