The Friends' History
The Friends formed in 2000 to engage libraryĀ patrons, the community, and organizationsĀ interested in books in programs and servicesĀ that support the library and encourageĀ literacy. In 2001, the group obtained
incorporation from the State of Ohio andĀ registered their 501c(3) status with the IRS asĀ a non-profit organization.Ā Throughout their history, the organizationĀ has provided support to the library.Ā
June Fry, President of the Friends of NewĀ Carlisle Public Library said, "I've always lovedĀ books and being around the library."Ā If you feel the same way, consider joiningĀ the Friends.

The Friends' Projects
The Friends provide funds to support numerousĀ programs for library patrons of all ages. We raise money through membership dues, book bag sales,Ā semi-annual book sales and donations.Ā Past projects include:

ļ· Supported library expansion through
building purchase
ļ· Purchased library sign
ļ· Purchased shed for donated books
ļ· Purchased a bicycle rack
ļ· Purchased computers and special
bookcases
ļ· Helped replace library carpet
ļ· Paid for guest lecturers
ļ· Purchased materials for Children's Library
ļ· Donated to Children's Summer Reading
Program
